The Promise of Freedom is a long-form documentary representing the culmination of the 21 Icons South Africa Season II short film series.

The film, broadcast on SABC3 to a primetime Freedom Day audience, takes a journey with the influential architects of democracy.

They tell of their path to freedom, South Africa’s ability to unite in the face of adversity, and their experience of building a nation together.
